Who Will Get the MVP?

The NFL gives out a league MVP every year. The two people who have recieved the most league MVPs are Bret Favre and Peyton Manning and they both are tied with tree a piece. This season brings up an interestng situation in the league. Bret Favre and Peyton Manning are both having an amazing season. Favre is about to retire but still is throwing like he is in the prime of his life and Manning is just well...Manning, the best quarterback ever. That may seem biased because I am a huge Colts fan but Manning has performed to prove he is the best if not one of the best quarterbacks of all time. Manning has led his team to a 10-0 season so far and Favre is keeping his team on top as well. Many people are saying that Favre has performed to receive MVP this season but also many people feel that manning deserves the MVP title this season. Either way, whoever recieves the title, Manning or Favre, they will be the first player ever to receive four MVPs in their career. Favre is at the end of his career and this would probably be his last but Manning has atleast five years left after this if not more and he will almost certainly recieve atleast five MVPs in his career.

VINCE YOUNG = TITANS MOSIA

TITANS BEAT TEXANS IN CLOSE GAME

Last night was Monday Night Football on ESPN. The match up was the Tennessee Titans vs. the Houston Texans and the game was being held down in Houston. To many people across the nation it wasn't much of an exciting game to look forward to. The reason many people weren't too excited was because the two teams really weren't all that good. If you were just a all around football fan you would have most likely watched the game because of the buzz that has been occurring with the titans recently. At the beginning of the season the Titans were unable to win a game and many people did not know why (other than playing poorly). Then the coach made the best decision he has every made. He replaced his old quarterback with a new one that is an amazing player, Vince Young. Since the quarterback was replaced the Titans have won 4 straight, including last nights game against the Texans. The game was not won easily and took a lot of hard work, but because of Vince Young the team was able to come out victorious against the Texas for a 20-17 win. It kind of helped that the Texans missed two field goals though.

There Is Help Out There

H1N1 has become more common than uncommon for everyone in America and is affecting everyone’s lives in some way, but many people don’t know that much about it.
Being educated about the flu H1N1 is vital for people that are scared about catching it and for people who have already had it. It is easily spread and has a lot of terrible symptoms that will keep people from work for a long time.
H1N1 spreads easily from person to person, from coughing and sneezing infected people or on many surfaces. By just washing your hands and being clean people are able to lower chances of getting infected. Doctors have provided Americans with an H1N1 vaccine and it is said by the CDC, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, to be the most import tool we have for preventing influenza.
Maya Murry, a nurse at the Orem Intermountain Health Clinic, says that H1N1 can be a scary and more dangerous flu but by following the advice of health officials it can help your odds of getting it. Murry says, “I recommend the H1N1 vaccine shot to everyone because it’s your best chance.”
A patient being treated at the Orem Intermountain Health Clinic, Clair Bunce, says that this flu was the worst one she feels like she has had for a long time. She has felt all the symptoms of a normal flu but much more severe. Bunce says, “I Threw up so much that I feel like have burnt a hole in my throat.”
H1N1 is one of the most sever flu’s America and the world has seen in a long time but the H1N1 vaccine is the most important step people can make to protect themselves from getting it. By covering mouths, washing hands and keeping away from others people can dramatically affect the spread of this flu.

COLTS CANT BE STOPPED!!

BAD CALL

After the Colts were trailing most of the game to the Patriots, the Colts brought the score close towards the end of the fourth quarter to 28-34. There was just less than three minutes left in the game and the Colts were still down six points and the Patriots had the ball. Patriots move the ball for a first down. The clock was ticking down and the Patriots get stopped three times and the fourth down comes up. The Patriots understand that many people would punt the ball in this situation when they are on their own 28 yard-line. The coach for the Patriots understood that giving the ball back to the Colts would be a bad idea because Peyton Manning will destroy them. So the Patriots decided to go for it on fourth down. What the Patriots didn't know was that the Colts have more weapons than Manning, the Colts defense was ready to work them. The Colts Defense did exactly what I said, they stopped the Patriots on fourth down. The colts ended the game by winning 35-34 because the Colts are the best. That's just a fact. Many people say that it was a bad call for the Patriots to go for it on fourth down but who wouldn't really want to give Peyton Manning the ball back no matter where it is? NO ONE! Colts can't be stopped!

NEW VIDEO GAME STRETCHES THE LIMITS

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

The new video game "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare2" was released today in stores. This game is a sequel to the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare", which was the 2007 video game of the year. " To me the first Modern Warfare was one of the best games i have ever played. The new Modern Warfare coming out is going to push the envelope for video games. In it you are able to participate in a terrorist attack and fight in a destroyed U.S. Capital. The reviews have said great things about this game. Many people in the country who are obsessed with the First Modern Warfare can wait to play the new one. If it is anything like the old one then they have me and many other people sold. The best part of the Original is that you can connect online and fight many other actually people playing from their homes and play missions fighting each other. It is very exciting and the best part is that it is interactive with other payers. The new Modern Warfare is said to blow the old one out of the water and i cant wait to try it out.

PHILLIES AREN'T READY TO BE DONE

PHILLIES STAY IN IT

The Philadelphia Phillies won game 5 last night in the MLB World Series. They are still down to a game to the New York Yankees. The Yankees have won 3 games compared to Phillies winning only 2 so far. The Phillies knocked off the Yankees 8-6 last night to keep themselves in the World Series. The Yankees pitching fell short last night during the game and that was one of the major contributors to their loss. The Phillies second baseman, Utley, had two home runs last night to help with the victory. Utley has 5 home runs during this World Series which ties him for the most home runs in a World Series. If he continues his home run spree then the Phillies shouldn't worry about anything.

Feelings Get Hurt

MORMONS CALLED OUT

Dallin H. Oaks who is one of the twelve apostles in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, was scrutinized after comparing the backlash of the California voters overturning gay marriage to the Southern blacks during the civil rights movement. After his comment to the students AT BYU Idaho, Oaks caught national attention. One of the reasons it caught alot of attention was because Oaks is a church leader. After all of the comments that were made to Oaks after his remarks, he still stands by what he said. He should be given alot of credit by not backing down to the press and people fighting his remarks. Why would he though, he is told what to say by a higher power and many people dont understand that.

OBAMA'S HEALTH CARE PLAN (1st News Post)

Is Health care Reform A Pro or Con?

Health care in this country has sparked a lot of controversy and from that controversy the President Barack Obama has proposed a plan that he says will answer all the problems but many Americans question it.
The current health care plan has a lot of problems, from minimal coverage to eligibility to limited people. Many of the people covered are low-income individuals and families who fit into an eligibility group that is recognized by federal and state law.
Since there are so many problems with the current health care plan President Barack Obama has proposed a new health care plan. Obama’s proposes a new health care plan that gives more security and stability for people who already have health insurance, gives quality and affordable choices for people who don’t have health care, and will help all Americans to be covered by having health insurance.
Many Americans are divided on their feelings about Barack Obama’s health care plan. Ashley Barnes, a nurse at Timpanogos Regional Hospital says,” I don’t like the idea of government run national health care.” Barnes continued by saying that although more people will be insured if Obama’s health care plan goes through, she doesn’t feel that everything Obama has promised about the health care plan will really happen.
Another American citizen, Lincoln Gardner, who has educated himself by following the President’s health care plan by watching his speeches, following the news on TV and reading the many newspapers in our country. Gardner, a Dicks Sporting Goods corporate employee, says,” From a realistic perspective the only good thing about his plan is the idea.” Gardner continued by saying that Obama has not explained how he will pay for his health care plan and it will cause too many problems with the quality of our countries doctors.
Although Barack Obama has good intentions on bettering our nation’s health care program and has good ideas on what can make it better, he may not have all the answers. Our country already has a lot of financial problems and with Obama’s health care plan it will only add to those financial problems.

PEYTON IS #1

Peyton Manning, quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, controlled his offense for less than 15:00 minutes last night and still got a victory. The Colts broke the leagues record for a win with the shortest time of possession. Peyton Manning is by far the most talented quarterback in the league. He executed every play he needed to with perfection during the game against the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins controlled over 75% of the game and still couldn't clinch a victory. They were running their signature "wildcat" offense, where they take out the quarterback and try to trick the defense by running the ball. They were unsuccessful and lost the game 27-23 to the Indianapolis Colts. They should have known it was a bad idea to mess with the colts when the very first play of the game Peyton Manning through a touchdown to his tight end, Dallas Clark.

MOUNTAIN WEST BECOMES CONTENDERS

Year after year the Mountain west conference isnt taken serious. Last year the Utah Utes went undefeated and when they were heading to the Sugar Bowl, which is a major NCAA football game, they were judged by the nation to get stomped. We all know the end to that story though. Now after BYU's upset over nationally ranked Oklahoma (No. 3) the mountain west is looked at as more of a NCAA footbal contender. Everyone in the Mountain West in convinced they can contend with all of the big dogs. After this season everyone will be able to understand the strength of the Mountain West conference. I personally am not a Mountain West fan, but anyone would have to agree that the Mountain West is making their mark. Personally i am from the Big Ten conference area of the country and the Mountain West is looked as one of the weakest conferences in the nations but within the past few years they have really come to play. Obviously they have the well known BYU and U of U, but a lot of the other Mountain West teams are playing big as well. It shows the mountain west is a conference to fear.
